How Nutrition Affects Anorexia

image

Food and the body is only one level of how health and nutrition affects our daily lives. More then this, is a mental relationship with one's health and how one identifies with the different nutritious needs. This can either cause a level of health for the individual, or results in subtle to severe problems linked to the nutritious needs. One known difficulty that several have is linked to anorexia, a disorder that links directly to what one decides to eat.

Definition of Anorexia

The concept of anorexia is based on one's identity with their body, weight and suspected body image. When one has anorexia, there is the belief that food causes weight gain. To balance this, less nutrition and food is eaten, causing for someone to become overly skinny and under a normal body weight. It is also known that anorexia links to problems with individuals who don't feel as though they are in control of their body or weight, causing them to move into trying to control their nutritious levels by only eating certain foods at certain times.

Not only does the body image and mental relationship to food and control cause anorexia, but outside pressures are known to contribute to the problem. For instance, women and girls that are in certain cultures are often pressured to look a certain way or have specific ideologies about their body. Other times, individuals may move through a traumatic event that causes them to stop eating and to try to take control over another aspect of their life. Family traits, pressures and other problems also link to anorexia.

Nutritions Response to Anorexia

When someone moves into a state of anorexia, the body responds in various ways, which causes the nutritious levels to change. For instance, if someone is controlling their eating levels by not eating, then the body moves into a state of malnutrition and won't be able to receive a balanced number of nutrients everyday. With anorexia, throwing up food, not eating, taking diet pills or excess exercise may contribute to this. The more this is done, the more the body becomes off it's natural weight, which causes the nutritional needs, such as vitamins and minerals to be non-existent for the body.

For those that have anorexia, is a combination of alterations with body nutrition levels, as well as different approaches from mentality that causes an imbalance in the body. From the specific influences that cause anorexia to the approaches and problems that are consistent with this, are definitive problems that lead to the imbalance in nutrition and what is available for the body's needs.
