Conditions and Diagnosis of Diabetes

image

The disease of diabetes, for most, is not recognized at first by the symptoms available.  Typically, the problem forms over a period of time and is a result of changes the body makes.  If you believe you may have diabetes, you don't want to begin with the assumption that this is the case.  There are specific reasons why diabetes is caused, as well as symptoms and signs that let you know if you have the disease.

Types of Diabetes

The first part to understanding diabetes is to know the type you may have. This is dependent on the conditions that surround diabetes, as well as the symptoms you experience. For instance, gestational diabetes only occurs in women that are pregnant or have been pregnant because it changes the levels of hormones that are available. Type 1 diabetes, usually begins when the autoimmune system is fighting a disease.

If you are not suffering from these specific conditions, then it is likely that you have Type 2 diabetes. This is the most common diagnosis and occurs over several conditions. The main component that has been noticed is linked to being overweight or obese. Related to this is physical inactivity that usually factors into the problem. However, some individuals have type 2 diabetes because of their age or genetics.

Conditions of Diabetes

These specific characteristics that are with different types of diabetes also result in symptoms that you will notice when the disease begins to appear. All types of diabetes show symptoms such as fatigue and tiredness. This is combined with thirst, hunger, weight loss and increased urination. More severe symptoms include blurred vision and slow healing from wounds or sores. However, if the diabetes is not as severe or has not increased over time, the symptoms may not be noticeable.

The symptoms that are a part of diabetes interrelate to a diagnosis that is done by a health care professional. The easiest way to measure if you have diabetes is through a blood test. If there is a high level of glucose in your blood, it means that the cells are not receiving the fuel they should and you may have the disease. This is combined with an absence of food and drink for eight hours to see if the glucose in your blood is being processed or not. If the blood glucose level is above 200 mg / dL, then it shows that you have diabetes.

If you see symptoms of diabetes, such as low energy and fatigue, then it is important to get a diagnosis to see if you are suffering from the disease. Even though most don't have symptoms that are extreme, the sooner you can diagnose the problem and see what is occurring, the more likely you are to find a solution to balance your body to a normal state. Through the conditions and symptoms involved with diabetes, is a complete understanding to the particular problem.
