The top number is the systolic number and shows the top amount of pressure, while the lower number, which is diastolic, indicates the lowest rate of pressure your blood is moving at. Within these two rates, are regular blood pressure rates, hypertension and high blood pressure that is either in stage 1 or 2. The division between these are based on both numbers and how high they are, as well as how they relate to each other.
High Blood Pressure Treatment
The only way to know if your blood pressure is too high is to check with a doctor or physician to see what your average is. If the number is too high, then you want to reconsider your lifestyle, as this is the number one cause for high blood pressure. You also want to watch things such as the amount of salt you eat and the amount of potassium in your diet. You can prevent problems through exercise and by maintaining a balance with your meals.
